Obituary for Nelda Joy McCorvey (Golson)
Memorial services for Mrs. Nelda Joy Golson McCorvey will be held at Homewood Baptist Church, 3111 Rapides Ave. Alexandria, Louisiana at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2020 with Reverend Jimmy Koonce officiating. Visitation for Mrs. McCorvey will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at Homewood Baptist until service time. Mrs. McCorvey entered eternal rest on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana .
Joy loved the outdoors. She loved to work in the yard, planting flowers and tending to her garden. In her younger years, she loved to ride horses with her brother. She had many pleasant memories riding horses on her fathers farm. Frank even rode with her and Roy when they were first dating. She was a wonderful cook and we will all miss that.
Joy was born in Ringgold, Louisiana on October 28, 1952 and entered eternal rest on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Noble and Nelda Golson and two brothers, Roy Oscar Golson and Joel Lewis Golson.
Left to cherish her memories include her husband, Frank L. McCorvey; a son, Jason L. McCorvey (Tina); granddaughters, Jordan Lee McCorvey (Slater) and husband Matthew of Roanoke, VA; granddaughter Morgan Lainey McCorvey; daughter, Angela Denise McCorvey; brother Shaun Golson and wife Heidi and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. We are thankful for the time that God allowed her to be on the earth with us...We will miss her greatly.
