Obituary for Nathan Daniel Dunn

Funeral Services for Nathan Daniel Dunn “Nate” will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Pineville, Louisiana.

Visitation for Mr. Dunn will be on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana.

Nathan Daniel Dunn “Nate” of Alexandria, Louisiana passed from this life on Saturday, May 14, 2022. Nathan was born on Saturday, December 11, 1982 into a loving family and was the baby of the family. He was a loyal, compassionate person who never hesitated to provide assistance to those in need.

Nathan is preceded in death by his father, Mike Dunn; and his nephew, Brandon Chambless.

He is survived by the pride of his life, his sons, Nathan Daniel Dunn II, Logan Dunn, and Ethan Dunn; the mother of his children, Jessica Dunn: his mother, MaryAnn Dunn; his brother, Joshua Dunn (Rebecca); his sister, Rebecca Dunn-Retos; his nieces Anna Retos and Eloise Dunn; his nephews, Tristan Dunn and Lucas Dunn; other family and friends.

Growing up, Nathan enjoyed little league baseball, football, and fishing. Later in life, Nathan discovered a passion for cooking and frequently enjoyed sharing this passion with friends and family. As a result, he attended and successfully completed his studies at the Scalfani Cooking School, Inc. (Metairie, LA). In addition to his culinary skills, Nathan was a 5th generation carpenter and worked alongside his father, Michael, at Dunn Construction Incorporated (DCI). Nathan further advanced his occupational skills by obtaining a General Contractor’s License in the State of Louisiana. Additionally, Nathan enjoyed metaphysical and theological discussions as a means of challenging and building his faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and took joy in sharing his faith with others.

Nathan had so many friends who deeply cared about him. If you were his friend, you could count yourself among the very fortunate to have this loyal, caring guy in your corner. He will be so missed and his memory will be treasured by all.

Nathan's family wishes to thank everyone for their support and compassion during this incredibly sorrowful time. The outpouring of love from family, friends, and the community is treasured by Nathan's entire family.
