Myrtis Merle Middleton, age 85, of Prospect, stepped into Glory from the comfort of her home and surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, May 30, 2021.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Albert “Sonny” Watson; her Mother, Myrtis Berlin Middleton; her father, Troy Middleton; her sisters, Fay Jolly and Jessie Middleton Gentry; and her granddaughter, Lacy Maxwell.

Those left to cherish her memory are, her daughter, Diane Maxwell and husband David; her son, Tommy Watson and wife Frances; her brother, Troy "Buddy" Middleton (Nita); her sisters, Kathy Miller (Ray) and Sally Fletcher; and her grandchildren, Ross Maxwell, Carrie Watson-Howell, Jason Watson, Casey Watson-Jenkins, Orrin Maxwell & John Watson; along with fifteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

Born on February 25,1936 in Pineville, Louisiana, she spent 54 beautiful years along- side the love of her life, Sonny! Together, they built a legacy of love most novelists could only dream to rival. Many road trips traveled, fish caught and gardens grown, but their most treasured adventure of all, was the family they built together. Granny, as most in our family affectionately call her, is the anchor everyone is tethered to. She lived a life of strength and assurance, a life of joy and simplicity, and her absence will be felt for years to come, by all those who had the honor of knowing and loving her.

She spent many years of her life dedicated to working as a Tumor Registrar in the Cancer center. In leu of flowers, the family would like you to honor her life’s work by sending donations to St Jude, where she herself donated for years.
