Obituary for Mickey Lynn Husbands
Mickey Lynn Husbands, age 66, passed away on May 14, 2023, in Alexandria, LA. Mickey was born on June 29, 1956, in Jena, LA. He was an EMT/Paramedic and served in the field for 34 years until his retirement in 2014.
Mickey was a one-of-a-kind person. He never met a stranger and loved bringing laughter and joy to everyone he met. He enjoyed spending time with his family, telling stories to his grandchildren, napping with his dogs, Stewie and Sheamus, and prior to his illness, hunting at the deer camp. Even through his illnesses the last several years, he never lost his sense of humor.
Mickey is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 43 years, Renee’ Husbands, daughters, Holly Sikes and Casey Nolen, one son, Adam Husbands, grandchildren who he adored, Ethan Stafford, Lucas Nolen, and Lillian Husbands, brother Daryl (Kathy) Husbands, sister, Patty Husbands, father-in-law, Don Lindsay, brother-in-law, Mike Lindsay, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Gwen and Rusty Turrentine, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Husbands, mother, Viola Husbands, nephew, Richard Husbands, mother-in-law, Faye Lindsay, and sister-in-law, Wendy Lindsay.
The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors, and staff at Rapides Regional Medical Center. Your kindness and compassion will not be forgotten.
A memorial service to honor Mickey’s life will take place at a later date.
