Obituary for Michael Wayne Austin
Mr. Michael Wayne Austin, age 62, entered eternal rest on Monday, September 6, 2021 in Alexandria at Rapides Regional Medical Center.
Service for Mr. Austin will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home. The Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM.
Mr. Michael Austin was a loving father, son, brother, and grandfather. He was a boiler operator for roughly 40 years at Hunt Plywood. He enjoyed drawing, tinkering with woodworking, and gardening. Mr. Austin was a hero to his daughter, Amanda, and dearly loved his mother. He will forever be missed by those that loved and knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Austin; and brother, Paul Austin.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Amanda Austin (Buck Welch); step-son, Thomas Murrell; mother, Mary Austin; brother, David Austin (Denise); sister, Gloria Barry (Reginald); grandchildren, Luke Austin, Hope Flores, and Airionna Guillot.
