Obituary for Mary Anna Leggett Thomas

Private Family Graveside services celebrating the life of Mary Anna Leggett Thomas will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 4, 2021 at Cedar Creek Cemetery, Bonnie Wilson Road, Jerusalem, Arkansas. Services entrusted to Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, 3994 Monroe Highway, Ball, Louisiana. Mrs. Thomas, age 87 of LeCompte, Louisiana entered eternal rest on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at The Oaks Care Center in Pineville, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, Louis Thomas; her parents, William James Leggett and Ethel Fridell Leggett; her 2 brothers, Bill Leggett and Paul Leggett; and her 2 sisters, Pearl Leggett and Genevieve Fryer. She is survived by her sons, Billy Thomas (Wendy), Don Thomas (Carolyn), and Phil Thomas (Connie); her daughter, Lauri Maxwell (Hank); her 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, other family and friends. A lady of strong faith, Mary loyally served as the secretary of First Baptist Church in LeCompte, Louisiana for several years. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in LeCompte, Louisiana where they celebrated " Mary Thomas Day" upon her retirement. She was also a substitute teacher for many years. Known for being a sweet person, Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend who will be great missed by all who knew and loved her.
