Obituary for Louis Robert Crusenberry

Louis Robert Crusenberry, 87, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, December 20, 2020.

Louis was born on February 14, 1933 to Edith and Ellis Crusenberry in Pennington Gap, Virginia and was raised on a farm in Kentucky with his brother, Ulysses, and sister, Barbara.

He married Eva Crusenberry on February 2, 1953 and was blessed with four children, seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Louis and Eva enjoyed being involved with their grandchildren’s lives by attending sports games, graduations, and many other events to show their endless support. They also enjoyed traveling the country in their motorhome and camping with friends.

Louis retired from the Air Force as a Master Sergeant after 20 years. He managed the bowling alley in West Monroe for 5 years. After they moved to Pineville, Louisiana, he orchestrated the arts & crafts program and managed the bowling alley at the England Air Force base. He spent a few years as a courier for Southern Heritage Bank. Louis never met a stranger and could often be found around town socializing with everyone he encountered.

Louis enjoyed watching his horse, My Lil Jenn, race at the racetrack. Louis’s other hobbies included growing his own vegetables, camping, and socializing with friends and family. He loved spending time in his recliner with his dog, Yoshi. Louis was very tech savvy and always loved to have the latest and greatest technology. He was an amateur radio operator that was known by the call sign WG5W.

Louis is preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Eva Crusenberry; parents, Ellis Crusenberry and Edith Setser Crusenberry of Williamsburg, Kentucky; son, Randall Crusenberry; brother, Ulysses Crusenberry of Williamsburg, Kentucky; daughter-in-law, Tina Jordan Crusenberry; grandson, Jordan Counts.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Barbara Reeves and husband, Wallace; sister-in-law, Marie Crusenberry; daughter, Debbie Counts; two sons, Wendell Crusenberry and wife, Brenda, and Greg Crusenberry; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and numerous friends.
