Obituary for Larry Brossette

Mr. Larry Brossette, age 71, entered eternal rest on Monday, February 15, 2021, in Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria, Louisiana. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, Ball, Louisiana.
Services for Mr. Brossette will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home. The visitation will be held from 12:00PM until the time of service on Wednesday. Burial will be in Colfax Cemetery under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home.
Mr. Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was involved in his community, serving with numerous groups and clubs. Mr. Larry was a former Louisiana Pecan Festival Board Member, member of Lion's Club, former member of Colfax JCs, volunteer for Colfax Fire Department and was commended for saving the life of a family from a burning house. He was a parishioner and usher at St. Rita's Catholic Church; former Alter Boy, Parishioner and Men's Club Member at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Colfax, LA; and grew up in Boy Scouts later becoming a leader of the Cub Scouts in Colfax, LA. He worked with the Louisiana DOTD, where he retired after 40 years of service.

Mr. Larry was an avid sports fan of the Alexandria Aces Baseball Team, Saints Football and LSU Baseball and Football. He grew up playing ball and that love was passed down to his children and grandchildren. Mr. Larry Brossette will forever be missed by those that loved and knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Angles “Bootsie” Brossette and Maggie Lavespere Brossette.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 28 years, Victoria “Vicki” Brossette; children, Bridgette Brossette, Larry “Benji” Brossette, Charles Shirley, Jr. (Crissy), and Blanche Shirley Peters (Ragan); grandsons, Carson Shirley, Caleb Shirley, and Kameron McQuillin; sister, Shirley Brossette; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers honored to serve include; Larry "Benji" Brossette, Kirby Moreau, Alvin "Bubba" Brossette, Charles Shirley, Jr., Carson Shirley, and Ragan Peters. Honorary Pallbearers are Garland Brossette, Cody Ray, Caleb Shirley, and Kameron McQuillin.
