Obituary for Kathleen Estelle Smith Coleman

Kathleen Estelle Smith Coleman passed on to eternal glory on April 23, 2022 at Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, LA, surrounded by her loving family. Kathleen was born on February 27, 1948 in Alexandria, LA. She graduated from Tioga High School in 1966. Kathleen was the Manager for Select Video for many years. She also worked for Gilcrease Construction for 9 years.

Kathleen loved her family immensely. She was an avid sports person, enjoying hunting, fishing, riding horses, and camping. She enjoyed playing softball and watching her grandchildren play sports. Kathleen was an active member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church and will forever be missed.

Services for Mrs. Coleman will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Glen Womble officiating. The visitation will be held on Monday at the church from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The Church address is 282 Havens Rd. Elmer, La 71424. Interment will follow the services in Hemphill Star under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Kathleen Smith; maternal grandparents, Walter and Maude Bradford,; paternal grandparents, John Franklin and Nannie Smith; and her bother Francis "Bo" Smith, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 53 years, Claude Coleman; sons, Richard Coleman (Shenan), Douglas Coleman (Allison), and Chad Coleman (Shirlean); granddaughters, Courtney Spears (Cory), Whitney Strebeck (Jason), Alyssa Coleman (Fiancé, Trey Stokes), Nikki-Lynn Gibson; greatgrandchildren, Brianna Brown, Cayden Shumake, Mason Spears, Hunter Spears, Remi Johnson; sister, Lillian Robinette (Richard); brother, James Smith (Fiancé, Lisa Osmun); and many loved nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Peyton Smith, Frankie Lily, Sean Vidrine, Jared Smith, Dale Malone, and Travis Budnik.
