Obituary for Joyce Carter Bordelon
Mrs. Joyce Elaine Carter Bordelon, age 91, entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 4, 2022 in Alexandria at Brookdale Senior Living.
The visitation for Mrs. Bordelon will be held on Monday, June 6, 2022 at Gallagher Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. There will be a Rosary in the Chapel on Monday at 6:30 p.m. The service will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Gallagher Funeral Home with interment following in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred S. Bordelon, Sr.; daughter, Rhonda Bordelon; parents, Daniel Carter and Una Smith Carter; siblings, Daniel Carter, Jr., Yvonne Carter Smith, Barbara Carter, Jimmy William Carter, Donald Carter, Bessie Carter Flores, and Thomas Carter.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Kathleen Marien (Jack) and Alfred Bordelon, Jr.; sisters, Jane Carter Anderson (Chuck), Jo Ann Hoffman (Ted), and Delores Faye McDaniel; grandchildren, Kyla Vaughn (Robert), Jaclyn Clinton (Brandon), Jared Wilson (Marie), Tracy Noles (Dave), Kristen Jeansonne (Anthony), and Jill Vidrine (Mason); 17 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; special nephew, Kevin Brough; and a host of extended family and friends.
Mrs. Bordelon was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She enjoyed cooking for her family, reading, crafts, and needlepoint. Mrs. Bordelon was a longtime member of Sacred Heart before her illness. She will forever be missed by those that loved and knew her.
