Obituary for Joyce Teresa Boudreaux Bakies
Mrs. Joyce Tersea Boudreaux Bakies, age 89, entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at her residence in Alexandria, surrounded by her loving family.
Services for Mrs. Bakies will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m.. The Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Pineville under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bakies was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a devote Catholic and enjoyed cooking and volunteering at Cabrini. She will forever be missed by those that love and knew her.
She was preceded in death by her her husband, Major Vincent Bakies; son, Kevin Bakies; and parents, Percy and Rita Boudreaux.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Keith Bakies of Alexandria, Kendal Bakies of Alexandria, Kris Bakies of Alexandria and Kelly Bakies (Olga) of Alexandria; eight grandchildren, Brandon Bakies (Jennifer), Jamie Bakies, Aspen Flynn (David), April Gruben (Butch), Aaron Bakies, Daniel Bakies, Justin Bakies and Jared Bakies (Liz); thirteen great-grandchildren, Charlie Bakies, Briar Bakies, Tucker McCoy, Anna Flynn, Rosaleigh Jones, Kenleigh Gruben, Walker Lee Gruben, Wyatt Lee Gruben, Elaine Frances Bakies, Aleece Turner, Jennifer Barber, Devin Ky Duong and Kingston Noah Bakies.
