Obituary for Joseph Raney

Funeral services for Joseph Raney will be at 3:00 PM on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana with Pastor Keith Dickens officiating. Interment to follow at Lone Pine Cemetery in Bentley, Louisiana.

Visitation for Mr. Raney will be on Thursday, May 5, 2022 beginning at 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.

Joseph Raney, 62, of Deville, Louisiana formerly Tioga, Louisiana, entered to eternal life on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Raney is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Lou and Emmett Raney; his siblings, Linda Lou Raney, Brenda May Raney, Wanda Sue Davis, Donna Desoto; his nephew, Richard Louis Ashmore; and his great nephew, Keith Guillory, II.

He is survived by his sister, Patricia Ashmore; his brothers, Larry Lynn Raney, and Timothy Christopher Raney; and a host of nieces and nephews including, Amanda Ashmore (Joey), Erika Ashmore (John), Stacy Rini (Chris), Michael Perrin (Lacy), Jason Smith, Pete Smith (Stacey), Joanie Smith, Cynthia Davis, Mary Davis, and Brenda Davis: many great nieces and great nephews including, Keevin Guillory, Lane Ashmore, Linzey Ashmore, Raegan Brossett, Joseph Brossett, Jacob Brossett,Trenton Strong, Bryson Rini, Emma Rini, Kaine Lucas; other family and friends.

Joseph was a huge animal lover, and he was known for doing all the lawn work in Tioga and Deville with his brothers. An avid wrestling fan, he loved to watch TV with his brothers while eating way too many snacks. A loving brother, uncle, and friend, he will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
