Obituary for Joseph Suba Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Joseph Suba, Jr. will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball, Louisiana with Reverend Greg Willis officiating. Visitation will be held beginning at 10:00 a.m. until funeral time at Gallagher Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Ball, Louisiana.

Mr. Suba, age 85, of Pineville, Louisiana entered eternal rest on Monday, January 25, 2021at his residence in Pineville, Louisiana, surrounded by his loving family.

He served honorably in the United States Air Force. Upon discharge, he worked for the United States Post Office where he was promoted to Post Master working until retirement. He enjoyed travel, was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting, and spent many years volunteering with the local chapter of the Disabled American Veterans group (DAV). He enjoyed reading, discussing history & politics, and was considered a crossword puzzle champ. Most of all, he enjoyed telling stories that were sure to make his grandchildren laugh whether they were true or not. He was a devoted and loving husband to his wife Doris for 63 years who recently preceded him in death.

Survivors include a son, Scott Suba and wife Debbie of Pineville; two daughters, Diane Baudoin and husband Raymond of Pineville, Bonnie Hazelton and husband Roderick of Lake Cove; two son-in-law’s, Mack King and Irby Hazelton of Lake Cove; 12 grandchildren, Becky Nelson, Brent Gaskin, Christopher Suba, Heather Jones, Nate Hazelton, Joni Hazelton, Brandon King, Joshua Newcomb, Heath Hazelton, Candice King, and Dakota King; 31 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He will be greeted in heaven by his wife, Doris Brown Suba; loving daughters, Tina Suba Hazelton & Sherry Suba King; grandsons, Jason Gaskin and Justin Suba; granddaughter, Jessica King; and parents, Joseph and Gracie Suba, who preceded him in death.
