Obituary for Johnnie "Missy" Gintz Jolly

Funeral services celebrating the life of Johnnie Melissa (Missy) Gintz Jolly will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 10:00 A.M., at Alpine First Baptist Church, Pineville, LA with Brother Charles Hutzler and Brother Robert Daniel officiating. Burial will follow at Big Island Memorial Cemetery, Deville, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home.

The family asks that friends visit at the church on Monday, January 30, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Robert Gintz, Jared Rolen, Kyle Sasser, Kody Sasser, Travis Broski and Ethan Rhoades. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Jolly, Michael Jolly, and Shannan Landreth.

Missy Jolly, 58, of Pineville, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA after a short illness with acute leukemia.

Missy attended church at The Church of God of Prophecy in Pineville. She loved the Lord and was very strong in her faith. She also enjoyed her time in bible study with the Victorious Ladies from Word of Grace in Pineville.

Missy (or Mrs. Jolly) as she was known by her students, taught with passion for 35 years, serving students in Rapides Parish from the Buckeye and Tioga Communities. She was called to teach and purposed her career to make a positive difference in the lives of her students, fellow teachers and staff, parents and community.

Family was always very important to Missy. She spent countless hours loving and supporting her own children, nieces and nephews, and extended family. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Polly W. Gintz; infant nephew, Steven Christopher Pippen; and brother-in-law, Keith Rolen.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 31 years, Chadwick James Jolly; sons Cameron James and Carter James and daughter Hanna Mae; Father, Charles Leon Gintz, Sr. ; Siblings, Debbie Daniel (Robert), Chuck Gintz (Angela), Cindy Sasser (Cannonball), Becky Pippen (Scott); a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and dear friends that are known as her “sisters from another mother”.
