Obituary for John Thomas "Buck" Lincecum

Mr. John "Buck" Lincecum, age 74, of Ball, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 in Alexandria, LA. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, Ball, Louisiana.

Services for Mr. Lincecum will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home. The visitation will begin at 10:00AM and continue until the time of service. Interment for Mr. Lincecum will be in Lincecum Cemetery.

Mr. Lincecum was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He worked for Dresser Industries for 42 years where he retired as a Labor and Safety Manager. Mr. Lincecum was very active in his community; serving at Justice of the Peace for 22 years, Rapides Parish Police Jury, member of Curtis T. Hines Lodge and Shriners, coached for many years at Ward 10 in Dixie baseball, softball, and basketball. He was a faithful member of Palestine Methodist Church and led the Youth and Adult Sunday School classes. He was an avid outdoorsman, and was determined for his children and grandchildren to learn all that they could about the outdoors. He will forever be missed by those that loved and knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Elmore Lincecum and Lessie Mae Hagan Lincecum ;brother, Jimmy E. Lincecum; sister, Lola Mae Soileau.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 48 years, Glynda Lincecum; sons, Matthew G. Lincecum (Liz), John G. Lincecum (Tricia); and Luke G. Lincecum (Michelle); sister, Patsy Carter (Herman); 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Palestine Methodist Church or to the Shriners Hospital in Shreveport.
