Obituary for Jewel Dean Jones Hicks
Graveside services celebrating the life of Jewel Dean Jones Hicks will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastors Travis Sanders and Richard DeBusk officiating. Interment will be in Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home.
Judy Hicks, 88, of Fairfield, Louisiana, passed from this life on February 16, 2021 at her home surrounded by loved ones.
Judy was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning, and teaching her great-grandchildren how to make teacakes. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmohter, and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hicks; son, Rick Hicks; great grandson, Harrison Tarter; parents, Leonard Jones and Julia Southall Jones; sisters, Leona DeAngelo and Peggy Kelley; brothers, Bill Jones and LaFayette Jones.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Donna Hicks Gatlin (Eddie) and Rebecca Hicks; son, Micheal Hicks (Rena); daughter-in-law, Joy Page Hicks; honorary sons, John Dunaway, Travis Sanders, and Dougie Evers; grandchildren, Danita Walker (Dewayne), Betsy Dunaway (Preston), Susan Barnhart (Clifford), Nora Gatlin, Jamie Welch (Derek), Page Tarter (Chris), Justin Pearman, Elise Haagenson (Stephan) and Keenan Lieberth; 21 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be; Dewayne Walker, Derek Welch, Preston Lyles, Clifford Barnhart, Robby Dunaway, Collin Walker, Brady Carbo, Dougie Evers, Gabe Walker. Honorary Pallbearers are all of her great grandsons.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Heart of Hospice for their great care and compassion.
