Obituary for Jessie Barton Griffin
Mrs. Jessie Leonelle Barton Griffin, age 88, entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 1, 2023 in Alexandria at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.
The visitation for Mrs. Griffin will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of serve. A Rosary will be held at 12:00 p.m. with the Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home. Interment will follow, in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold G. Griffin; parents, Lloyd Barton and Ruby Mayeaux Barton; and siblings, Carrol L. Barton, Gloria Ann Hall, and Anita Guillory.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Stevie Harold Griffin, Darrel Glenn Griffin, and Kenny Lane Griffin; daughter, Cathy Dunn; sister, Rita Basco; 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; and 1 great great granchild.
Mrs. Griffin was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and also her pets. Mrs. Griffin was a longtime member of St. Rita Catholic Church and will forever be missed by those that loved and knew her.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to both Harbor and Cabrini Hospice for their care during this time.
