Obituary for Janet Ponthier Fuqua
Funeral services for Janet Ponthier Fuqua will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Journey Church, 2900 Donahue Ferry Road in Pineville, Louisiana with Pastor James Greer officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Ruby, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, Ball, Louisiana.
Visitation for Mrs. Fuqua will be on Friday, March 19, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and then again on Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until service time all at Journey Church in Pineville, Louisiana. Honored to serve as active pallbearers are Justin Basco, Curt Fuqua, Madison Lachney, Shane Ponthier, Wendell Crooks, and Clayton Aymond. Honorary pallbearers include Jason Fuqua, Walter Price, Roman Ray, and Robert Couvillion.
Mrs. Fuqua entered eternal rest on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at her home in Deville, Louisiana surrounded by her loving family.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents, Aloysuis Sr. and Mamie Ponthier; her brothers, Aloysuis Ponthier Jr., and Edward Ponthier.
Mrs. Fuqua is survived by her loving husband, Tony Fuqua; her beloved children, Kala Basco (Justin), and Jason Fuqua (Britta); her precious grandchildren, Kamryn Basco, Kinley Basco, Kent Fuqua, and Jase Fuqua; her sisters, Susan Aymond (Clayton), and Jane Deshautelle; her loving brother-in-law, Curt Fuqua (Claudia); her loving mother-in-law, Barbara Fuqua; and her numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Janet was a devoted member of Journey Church in Pineville for 20 years where she served as a greeter. She was the proud owner of Miss Janet’s Daycare for 17 years. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, deer hunting, and most of all spending quality time with her friends, grandkids, and family that she loved so much. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
