Family Memorial Services for James “Jim” Owen Merritt, Sr. will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Dry Prong Community Center, 705 Second Street in dry Prong, Louisiana under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball, Louisiana.
Mr. James Owen Merritt, Sr. entered eternal rest on April 29, 2022 at his home in Dry Prong, Louisiana surrounded by his loving family.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Dock and Ruby Mae Merritt; and siblings.
Jim will be sadly missed by his beloved wife, Brenda Merritt, of Dry Prong, Louisiana; his loving children, Anthony Merritt; Valencia Merritt; Forever Merritt, and James Owen Merritt, Jr. (Yvonne); his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; his sister, Geraldine Green; his numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
A true man of God, Jim had a devotion and love for his church. He also enjoyed traveling and on-line shopping. Above all, he loved spending quality time with his loving family. A wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend, he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
