Obituary for James Melvin Cook, Jr.
Mr. James Cook, Jr., age 85, entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at his home in Boyce, surrounded by his loving family.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Cook, Sr. and Carrie Dean Cook; and 11 siblings.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Opal Cook; sons, Gregory Cook and Timothy Cook; daughters, Melissa Gagnon (Mark), Terry Carol Lewis, and Becky Joe Parks; grandchildren, Melanie Cook, Dustin Gagnon, and Tommy Cook; and great grandchild, Amaya Johnson.
Mr. Cook was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Smoky Joe, his CB handle, drove a truck for over 40 years for various companies. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and will forever be missed.
