Obituary for James David Lawson Sr.
Memorial services for Mr. James David Lawson, Sr. will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 21, 2020 at Church of Pentecost, Ball, Louisiana with Reverend Lonnie Weidner officiating.
Mr. Lawson, age 76, of Kentucky and formerly of Dry Prong, entered eternal rest on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Rapides Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Lawson was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He was passionate about caring for special needs men that needed him as much as he needed them. He was an avid fisherman (which he got honestly from his father), loved his church family, his pastor and loved giving of himself to family, friends and his community. He will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.
Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Paul James Lawson and wife, Lena Antee Lawson; three sisters, Jean Himel, Fern Walley, Sue Morris and one brother, Nerry Lawson.
Mr. Lawson is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Darlene K. Jewell Lawson; one daughter, Tracy Billings (Michael) of Worthington, KY; two sons, Brian James Lawson (Michelle) of Southaven, MS and James David Lawson, Jr. of Columbia, LA.; 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews; three sisters, Bobbie McGee, Debbie Walley and Faye Bergen and two brothers, Wayne Lawson and Tim Lawson.
In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials be made to Church of Pentecost Outreach, 4929 Monroe Highway Ball, La 71405.
