Obituary for James Milton Guffey
Mr. James “Milton” Guffey, age 79 of Colfax, Louisiana entered eternal rest on Friday, August 18, 2023.
Visitation for James will be Tuesday, August 22, 2023, from 9:00-11:00 am at Gallagher Funeral Home. Services will follow at 11:00 at Gallagher Funeral Home.
James is preceded in death by his parents, James and Dezaria Guffey; brothers, J.D. Guffey and John Melvin Guffey; daughter, Betty Sue Guffey; a great grandchild, Oaklynn Eversull; and Melissa's significant other, Pedro Richard Plunkett.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Rose Mary Guffey; sons, James Michael Guffey (Misty); daughter, Melissa Stroud; grandchildren, Courtney Thompson, Victoria Guffey, McKenzie Stroud, Christian Guffey, and Khloe Stroud; great grandchildren, Brooklynn “Redd” Bruce, Bailey Rainwater, Brentlee Bruce, and Addalyn Eversull; brother, Ralph Guffey (Susan); and sisters, Daisy Guffey, Carolyn Brossette, and Cassie Martin.
James was lovable and a very hard worker. He was always there for people when they wanted/needed him. He married the love of his life on June 3, 1972. He also served in the Army for a little while. He loved working on his son and grandson’s race car and watching his son and grandson work on it when he no longer could, or let’s say “supervise” them. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by everyone that knew and loved him.
