Obituary for James Edmond Chelette
Mr. James E. Chelette, age 82, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 in Winnfield and the Winnfield Nursing and Rehab Center.
Graveside services for Mr. Chelette will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Mark Breland officiating.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Nola Chelette; and siblings, Dot Hodnett, Robert Chelette, Inez Atwood, and Ray Hutchinson.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Arrington Chelette; sons, James Darin Chelette (Teresa) and Bobby Darrel Chelette (Renee); grandchildren, Caitlin Chelette, Megan Leggett (Joe and son, Henry), and Sydney Chelette; brothers, Loyd and Floyd Chelette; sisters, Margie "Sissy" Harvey and Susie Atwood; dog, Katie; and a host of extended family and friends.
Mr. Chelette was a strong and independent man, who spent most of his life in the Black Creek community. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping. He proudly served his country in the US Army. Mr. Chelette was a unique man who loved those close to him in his own way, but will forever be missed by those that loved and knew him.
