Obituary for Huey "Hulon" Lavespere
Funeral Services for Huey “Hulon” Lavespere will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Verda Baptist Church, 2688 LA-122, Atlanta, Louisiana with Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball, Louisiana in charge of arrangements. Interment to follow at St. Rose Cemetery in Aloha, Louisiana.
A Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM until service time at the church.
Mr. Huey “Hulon” Lavespere, entered eternal rest on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his loving family in Montgomerty, Louisiana.
Hulon was preceded in death by his mother, Kitty Traylor; and his father, A.J. Lavespere.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 53 years, Tina Graves Lavespere; his loving sons, Michael Lavespere (Nikki), and Jefferey Lavespere (Erin); his cherished granddaughter and light of his life, Haylee Lavespere; his brothers, Obie Lavespere (Theresa), Tony Lavespere (Becky), Skip Lavespere (Melonie), Mervyn Lavespere (Vivian), and Randy Lavespere; other family and friends.
A graduate of Verda High School, Hulon retired from the same high school after many years of faithful service. He was a proud US Army Veteran, seeing action in Vietnam where he was wounded twice and received 2 Purple Heart Medals. He enjoyed spending time with his brothers at family cookouts and preparing to hunt on their lease. Above all, for the past 18 months, Hulon loved spending quality time with his only grandchild, Halee. He taught her to dance, how to eat animal crackers, and how to wrestle on the couch. A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
