Horace "Bunny" Dale Mitchell, age 88, entered into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at his residence in Dry Prong, surrounded by his loving family.

Bunny was a longtime member of Hebron Baptist Church where he was an active member in the Men's Sunday School class. He also served his country for four years as a seaman on the USS Bremerton. He retired form the Grant Parish School Board and later joined his sons at Mitchell Transportation, where he served on the Board of Directors until retirement.

Bunny was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Eunice Mitchell.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 69 years, Onieda Corbitt Mitchell of Dry Prong, Louisiana; two sons, Ricky Lynn Mitchell of Dry Prong, Louisiana and Terry Dale Mitchell of Pineville, Louisiana; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Due to current health concerns regarding the pandemic, a private graveside service will be held at Hebron Cemtery with Pastor Travis Sanders officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home.

Friends may make a donation to Hebron Baptist Church in lieu of flowers. The funds will be used to minister to the elderly in the community.
