Obituary for Glen G. Taylor

Glen was born April 23, 1940 to the union of James Nash Taylor and Veo Robinson Taylor. Glen was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Glenda Taylor and Barbara Taylor Bordes. Glen passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 15, 2022.

Services for Glen will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at the Victory Pentecostal Church in Otis with Reverends Calvin Robinson and Benji Rhames officiating. The visitation will be held at the church the night before from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be held in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home.

Those left to cherish his memory are his three sons Tim (Marilyn), Todd (Melissa) and Tony (Dara) Taylor. One sister Carol (Mike) Moris, brothers Kenneth (Katie), Jesse (Libby), James Larry, and Jerry Taylor. Grandchildren Shane, Megan, Kylee, Sarah, Jessica, Karlie, Kaseton and Mason. Great Grandchildren Jailyn, Kodin, Kenzie, Wacey, Tucker, and Korbin. In addition to many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Glen was a plumber by trade. Glen owned and operated Glen's Plumbing in Minden, Louisiana for many years. He taught his sons the trade in addition to a valuable work ethic. Glen retired from the Army Ammunition Plant in Minden, Louisiana after many years as the Maintenance Supervisor. Glen was still "working" up until his few last days. He always had a pocket of tools "forks, knives, straws, napkins" and loved sharing with anyone that would listen, how long and hard his days were.

Glen loved to travel. He loved taking pictures, collecting antiques and other collectables. He enjoyed fellowshipping with his former classmates of Oak HIll High School annually. He loved barbecuing and spending time with family and friends.

Glen was a giver, not a taker. He never met a stranger. He was the unofficial maintenance man of Naomi Heights Rehabilitation Facility.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mrs. Theresa, Mrs. Alesha, Mrs. Shoni and the entire staff of Naomi Heights Rehabilitation Facility, St. Joseph Hospice, Dr. Barton and Dr. Hunter. Each of you cared for our loved one when he needed it the most.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Kaseton Taylor, Mason Taylor, Kerry Townley, Chase Rasmussen, Ryan Lewis, and Jacob Midkiff.
