Mr. Gerald Glen Chelette, age 74, entered eternal rest on Monday, August 1, 2022 at his home in Montgomery, surrounded by his loving family.
The visitation for Mr. Gerald will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Liberty Christian Church. There will be a graveside service on Friday, August 5, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Chuck LaCroix officiating, at Mars Hill Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Chelette and Anita Rhymes Chelette; brothers, Stanley and Malcolm Chelette; sisters, Raven Smith and Sandra Romero; and daughter-in-law, Amy Chelette.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 47 years, Sue Carter Chelette; sons, Gerald Chelette, Jr. (Morgan), Bradley Chelette (Josy), and Jason Chelette (Michelle); daughter, Darla Chelette; grandchildren, Alia, Kira, Hayden, Brantley, Rylen, Kannan, Aliviah, Tristen, Aspen, Mick, Xander, Sabrina, KaeLa, Traye, and Matrashia; 9 great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
Mr. Gerald was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a very hard worker and had many interests, like fishing, welding, construction, and mechanical work. He worked with the Volunteer Fire Depart in Nantachie for many years and retired as Chief, worked with the EMT and even a security guard. Mr. Gerald loved his God and family the most, and was a chartered member of Liberty Christian. He will forever be missed by those that loved and knew him.
