Obituary for George Everette Hollis

Funeral services for George Everette Hollis will be on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ray Ford and Glenn Younger officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Cemetery in Pineville under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home of Ball, Louisiana. Visitation for Mr. Hollis will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Gallagher Funeral Home.

Mr. Hollis, age 73 entered eternal rest on Monday, February 1, 2021 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Hollis was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Glenda Sue Smith.

Mr. Hollis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother and friend. George was of the Baptist faith, was very involved in Baptist Missions, served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and helped build several churches throughout his lifetime. When George wasn't working for the kingdom of God, he worked for Centurytel installing fiber optic cable and exchange boxes all over the south. Mr. Hollis will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Mr. Hollis is survived by his loving wife, Freida Hale Hollis; two daughters, Vicki Younger (Glenn) and Lisa Hollis (Wesley); six granddaughters, Alexis, Emily, Natalie, Haylee, Whitnee and Maloree; one sister, Mary Lou Smith (Red); two brothers, Joe Hollis (Virginia) and Johnny Roberts (Donna) and a host of extended family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Benny Fontenot, Ronnie Roberts, Dean Chelette and Terrell Chapman. Pallbearers honored to serve are Jonathan Roberts, David Smith, Bill Norris, Keith Brunson, Phil Thomas and Denzel Haggart.
