Obituary for Gary R. Boone

Funeral services for Gary R. Boone will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball, Louisiana with Reverend Richard Bullock officiating. Visitation for Mr. Boone will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday October 13, 2021 at Gallagher Funeral Home.

Gary Randal Boone, 66, of Kolin, La passed away at 4:26 AM on Monday, October 11, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at his home after a lengthy illness.

Gary was a native of Pineville, La. Gary worked in the oil fields for many years. He was transferred to Lake Charles where he met the love of his life, Connie.

He was a branch manager for Loomis Pipe Testers for many years, moving several times during his career. He opened a Loomis branch in Hattisburg, Ms. and then transferred to Ventura, California to open a branch there. After moving back to Louisiana and the oil field down fall, he decided it was time to come home. After returning to Pineville, he began working as Operations Manager at Kolin-Ruby Wise Water. In 2018, he won the H. M. "Skeeter" Vickers award for Outstanding Dedication to the Water Industry. He retired in May 2018 after 30 years of service.

Gary coached his son's baseball teams and loved every minute. He loved deer hunting at the camp with his family and friends and was known as the "Camp Cook". The kids put their order in to Paw-Paw for what they wanted to eat for the weekend and he made sure that they got what they requested. He was the "best jambalaya cooker" around and got many requests to cook for different functions and parties.

Gary was a faithful member of Liberty Baptist Church for over 30 years. He currently attended College Drive Baptist Church.

Gary was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Connie; sons, Jared Randall Boone, wife Terri of Kolin and Jacob Richey Boone of Kolin; grandchildren, Haidyn Randall Boone and Isabella "Bella" Lyn Boone. He is also survived by his brothers, Robert Boone, wife Phyllis; Ray Boone, Ralph "Puddin" Boone all of Pineville; Reggie Boone of Huffman, Texas; sisters, Brenda Green, husband Mike of Keatchie, La, Anna Norman, husband Darrell of Huffman, Texas. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also survived by his constant furry friends, John Brown and Bella.

He is preceded in death by his parents, ER and Verna Richey Boone; brother, Rodney David Boone, and nephew, Donald "Don" Boone.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Boone, Ray Boone, Puddin Boone, Reggie Boone, Jared Boone, Jacob Boone, Haidyn Boone, and Derek Lenkowski.

Pastor Richard Bullock will lead the service and honorary Pastor is Brother James "Jim" Thomasee.
