Obituary for Faye Mitchell Mayeaux
Mrs. Faye Mitchell Mayeaux, age 79, entered eternal rest on Friday, December 16, 2022, at her home in Pollock, surrounded by her loving family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gallagher Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Big Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Mayeaux; and parents, Charlie and Bertie Mitchell.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Kimberly Mayeaux, Dr. Eugene Mayeaux and wife Patty, and Dr. Brian Mayeaux and wife Robin; siblings, Margaret Beeson, Charles "Booger" Mitchell, Richard "Tinker" Mitchell, and Linda Turner; grandchildren, Ryan Blanco (Gabby), Michael Mayeaux (Caitlin), Maggie Mayeaux, Amanda Terrell (Jeremy), Marcie Mayeaux, and Rebecca Mayeaux; great grandchildren, Benjamin Mayeaux, and one on the way, Margie Mayeaux.
Mrs. Faye was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She, along with her husband, owned and operated a dry cleaning business for over twenty years. Later, she worked as a Medical Assistant for local Physician Offices, including Dr. Bruce Craig. Mrs. Faye was active in her community, serving in several groups including the Pollock Council. She enjoyed crafting, quilting, playing golf even winning some of the local Ladies' Tournaments. She was an avid football fan, she might have been referred to as a "Tiger" on Saturday and a "Saint" on Sunday. Mrs. Faye's great joy and achievement in life was her family, that she loved dearly. She will forever be missed by those that loved and knew her.
