Obituary for Evelyn Deloris Sweat (Peace)
Mrs. Evelyn Deloris Peace Sweat, age 85 of Pineville, Louisiana entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Grace Peace; and her husband, Ephraim Sweat.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jimmy Taylor; daughters, Debora Bolton (Jerry) and Rhonda George; nine grandchildren, Melissa Taylor, Gwenevieve Sanders (Patrick), Jessica Milton (William), Francine Sharpley (Bobby), Constance Cranford, Shawn Pletcher, Shannon Worthington, Timothy George and Casey Hawrylak (Sean); great grandchildren, Izaiah, Caiden, Sylvia, Stormie, Brooke, Alana, Natalie, Ryan, Michael (Kandice), T.J., Kynlee and fourteen more; twin brother, Morris Peace; sisters Pearl Hirshey and Charlene Trainor (Joe); and thirty-one great great grandchildren.
Deloris was born on December 18, 1937, in Pitcher, Oklahoma. She was raised in Treece, Kansas where her father was a coal miner and her mother was a tailor. She went to school in Pitcher, Oklahoma, “Go Gorilla’s”. She married into the military where she traveled to many states, finally settling in central Louisiana. She loved going on vacations. She loved visiting her mom, dad, sisters, brother, aunts and uncles. She was a longtime member of Alpine Baptist Church being a Wednesday woman and doing church activities. She loved doing all types of crafts, crocheting, painting, ceramics, sewing, wood crafting to name a few. She also loved going out to eat. She loved watching old mystery movies, Survivor, Perry Mason and Dancing with the Stars, wheel of fortune, playing word search and ice skating. She loved spending time with her family, family gatherings, and friends. She loved helping family and friends and doing whatever they needed. She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.
