Obituary for Era Sumrall Guillory (Sumrall)
Funeral services celebrating the life of Era Sumrall Guillory will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randy Thompkins officiating. Visitation for Mrs. Guillory will be from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday December 3, 2020 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Guillory, age 93 of Alexandria, Louisiana entered eternal rest peacefully in the arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Regency House, Alexandria, Louisiana. She was born in Harrisonburg, Louisiana on March 5, 1927 to James and Nannie Sumrall.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Lloyd Guillory; her parents, James and Nannie Sumrall; her brothers, H.I. Sumrall of Evansville, Indiana and Marion “Dick” Sumrall; her sisters, Ruby Wiggins, Lucy Wiggins, Lessie Mae Morris, and Althea “Gaye” Randall all of Jonesville, Louisiana.
She is survived by her one daughter, Jean Wilson (Jerry) of Alexandria, Louisiana; and a host of nephews and nieces. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 5011 Jackson St., Alexandria, LA or a charitable organization of your choice. In accordance with COVID restrictions, the family is requesting that all attendees wear a mask and refrain from shaking hands and hugging.
