Our precious mother, Elma Fern (Aycock) Dauzat passed from death to new life on Friday, July 15, 2022, at her home in Pineville, Louisiana surrounded by her loving family.

Ms. Fern is preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Jessie J. Dauzat, her parents Earl and Irene Aycock, and her siblings, Willie Dean Downs, Shirley George, and Gilbert Ray Aycock.

She is survived by her loving children, Barbara Dauzat Sampson (Jon), and Angelia “Angie” Coon (Rev. Eric); her cherished granddaughters, Gloria Coon, Amber Sampson, and Emily Sampson; her sisters Hilda Walters, Bonnie Gaspard (Earl), and Sandra Barbin. Pallbearers honored to serve are Blake Paul, Eric Dauzat, Danny Watts, Pat Campbell, Kevin Hartley, and Cody Kaufman. Honorary pallbearers are Joshua Parker, Michael Watts, and James Durison.

Ms. Fern was devoted to Jesus, her family, and her friends. She devoted most of her life to providing and making a home for her husband and two daughters. They meant the world to her as did her sons-in-law and three granddaughters when they came into the family. Additionally, her extended family was close to her heart. She was a cornerstone at many family gatherings. Her door was always open, and she always had something delicious to offer you to eat.

She has been a member of the Effie Bible Missionary Church for 39 years where she held several offices, including secretary and treasurer. Each of those that attended the church was family too. She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.

The family would like to say a big Thank You to Allegiance Healthcare Hospice & Palliative Care of Marksville and special thanks to nurses Jeamie, Jan, Betsy, and Brooke.
