Funeral Services for Eleanor “Jean” Hodnett Flatt will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Ball, Louisiana.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023 from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
Eleanor “Jean” Hodnett Flatt, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at her home in Alexandria, Louisiana surrounded by her family.
Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Willie Rellon Flatt.
She is survived by her two daughters, Brenda Flatt Bourgeois (Glenn), and Deborah Flatt (Kevin Ducote); her grandchildren, Joshua Rellon Flatt (Laura), and Scott Ford (Leta); and her great grandchildren, Maximus Rellon Flatt, Maris Jones, Connor Ford, Chelsea Ford, and Christopher Mills; her sister, Lorene “Arlie” Cyr; her brother, Jack L. Hodnett (Karen); numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Always known to her daughters as their beautiful and feisty mother, she was born on February 17, 1941 in Many, Louisiana to Madelyon Craft Hodnett and Lester Aubrey Hodnett.
She was an accountant and a licensed cosmetologist who was the owner and operator of Jean’s Beautique for many years. A faithful Christian, Jean enjoyed attending church as long as her health permitted. Above all, she enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends, often going to the casino.
