Obituary for Eleanor Mae Herrin (Shiery)

Funeral services for Mrs. Eleanor Mae Shiery Herrin will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday January 11, 2021 at Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Shaw and Chaplain Dale McKee officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home of Ball, Louisiana.
Visitation for Mrs. Herrin will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Gallagher Funeral Home and continue until service time.

Mrs. Herrin was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Mrs. Herrin obtained a Masters plus 30 degree from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches and taught school in Rapides Parish for 25 years, 20 years as a kindergarten teacher. She retired from Horseshoe Drive Elementary in Alexandria, La. Mrs. Herrin was a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Alexandria, became a christian at First Baptist Church of Biloxi, MS in 1945.

Mrs. Herrin was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Thomas "Albert" Herrin; her parents, Floyd and Elsie Shiery and a son in law, Newburn Lee Bellon.

Mrs. Herrin is survived by three daughters, Bonnie F. Bellon (Tony), Linda K. Maynard (Butch) and Wendy G. Bellon; a son, Andrew P. Herrin (Aaron); a sister, Carol S. Hyslop (Alan); a brother, Floyd Shiery, Jr. (Susan); seven grandchildren, Cynthia Owen (Ryan), Chet Maynard (Karen), Rebecca McKee (Dale), Amber Thomason (Jody), Robert Bellon (Sara), John Bellon and Susannah Gennuso (Nick); seven great-grandchildren, Malyssa, Elizabeth, Isabella, Edison, Mahayla, August, Liam and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers honored to serve are John Bellon, Alan Davis, Chet Maynard, Buck Turner, Don White and James Rambo; honorary pallbearer, Butch Maynard.

The Herrin family would like to thank Passages Hospice for all the Love and Care they showed for our mother.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Judes Children Hospital or Parkview Baptist Church in Alexandria.
