Graveside services for Edward “Ed” L. Coleman will be held Friday, January 15, 2021 at Frazier Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. The visitation will be in the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until time of services. Rev. David Roberts will be officiating the services at the cemetery. Interment will be under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana.
Mr. Coleman, age 82, of Dry Prong, Louisiana entered eternal rest on January 9, 2021 surrounded by family.
Edward “Ed” operated Coleman Masonry Construction as a Brick Mason contractor for 42 years. He then retired from the construction industry to teach his trades of masonry and carpentry at the Alexandria Votech School in Alexandria, Louisiana and after instructing many for 20 years, Mr. Coleman retired.
Ed enjoyed hunting, cooking, gardening, socializing with family and friends and NASCAR races on Sunday. Ed’s language of love was cooking large meals to fill the appetite of family, friends, local and state officials, it did not matter the size of the crowd, he was there enjoying every minute of cooking for all, but…. don’t get him to try and eat, it was always “get your plate first” but… don’t come back for seconds until everyone has eaten”.
Mr. Coleman is preceded in death by parents, Fred and Liona Coleman, his wife of 55 years, Peggy Jo Hawthorne Coleman, his grandson Edward "Lee" Coleman, III, his brother Thomas Coleman and sister Lorraine Peralta.
Those left to left to cherish his memory, his sons Edward L. Coleman, Jr. (Monica) and Terry L. Coleman (Robin) of Prospect his daughter Vicky Poche (John) of Prospect. Sisters, Mary R. Coleman of Prospect and Betty Ross of Niceville, FL. Grandchildren, Erin Coleman of Prospect, Jacob Coleman (Joy) of Bentley, Jessica Coleman of Selah, WA, Alex Coleman (Danielle) of Bentley, Tessa Coleman of Prospect, Heath Poche (Kaitlyn), Tara Graham (Chris), Lizzy Thompson (Kelly), Anthony “Bear” Churchman. Great grandchildren Trystan Leggett, Jayden Leggett, Cainyn Leggett, Cole Alwell Tripp Alwell, Hunter Coleman, Eva Coleman, & Lane Coleman, Righlea Martin, Chloe Thompson, Blakely Thompson, Noah Poche, Aiden Poche, Kaitlyn Maxwell, Ben Graham. Numbers of Nieces, Nephews and friends.
