Kemp graduated from Texas Chiropractic College in August 1994. He has practiced Chiropractic medicine in Alexandria for 29 years. Kemp inherited his love and compassion to help others from his father, Dr. John Murrell Nelson and has passed this onto his son Peyton, who graduates from his father's Alma Mater on April 15, 2023.

Matthew 22: 37- 39 says “Love the Lord your God with all of your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and the greatest commandment. And the second is like it, Love your neighbor as yourself. Because of his relationship with Jesus, these verses are the epitome of how he lived his life. The things he valued most in this life were his wife and his boys. He fulfilled his biblical role as a provider, a loving and attentive husband and father. From the time his boys were born, he spent time with them in the woods hunting deer or on the lake catching bass. He even encouraged a love for white perch fishing in Felicia. Kemp’s love for the outdoors is where he taught his boys about God’s creation & to give God the glory for his provision. This legacy will live on through his boys for a lifetime.

It would be impossible to list every act of love or good deed done by Kemp, but our lives have been forever enriched just by knowing him.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Mike Walsworth, Cory Fredieu, Tommy McCarty, Tim Bladel, Mike Bladel, and Jeff Stallings.
