Obituary for Dorothy Nell Maxwell Moore
Mrs. Dorothy Nell Maxwell Moore, age 91, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at Oak Haven Community Care Center. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gallagher Funeral Home.
The visitation for Mrs. Moore will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Gallagher Funeral Home from 10:30a.m. until noon. Graveside services will be held at 12:30p.m. at Unity Baptist Church Cemetery in Pineville, with Gordon Whatley officiating.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Mildred Maxwell; husband, Leroy Moore; infant granddaughter, Brandi Lyn Moore; sister, Mary Ann Marter; and brother, Harold Maxwell.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Larry Moore (Beverly) and Gary Moore (Ada); grandchildren, Blake Moore (Halie), Brandon Moore, Paige Moore Smith, Taylor Moore (Lindsay); 5 great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
Mrs. Moore was a devoted wife and mother. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed family gatherings. Her hobbies were gardening, sewing, reading, and playing cards. For a season in life, she was able to travel to many places, of which she still reminisced. She was very giving to others and had a heart for the less fortunate in life. Mrs.Moore enjoyed singing with “God’s Recycled Angels”, a group who ministered to those in care homes. She will forever be missed by those that loved and knew her.
Pallbearers honored to serve are Larry Moore, Gary Moore, Blake Moore, Brandon Moore, Taylor Moore, and Caleb Stark.
The family would like to extend great appreciation for the care given to Dorothy by the staff of Oak Haven Community Care Center and All Saints Hospice.
