Obituary for Dorothy "Dot" Lane Richardson (Lay)
Dorothy “Dot” Lane Lay Richardson, age 90 of Jonesville, Texas entered peacefully into eternal rest Saturday, January 21, 2023 at her home in Pineville, Louisiana.
A memorial visitation for Dorothy will be Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball, Louisiana.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Lois Lay; her husband of 72 years, Huey Richardson; her son, Dennis Richardson; and her grandson, Ron Ryder.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving daughters, Carla Ryder (husband Ronald) and Teresa Richardson Mandola; one grandchild, Matthew Ryder; four great grandchildren, Riley Ryder, Alex Ryder, Andrew Ryder and Mason Ryder; and her beloved and loyal pups Bobbi and Izzy.
Dorothy had a deep passion for working in her yard and being surrounded by nature. She enjoyed sewing so much that one Christmas she took her talents to a higher level and made the girls Barbie dolls beautiful wardrobes. In the younger days you would find the family going on day excursions that would find them fishing, arrowhead hunting, berry picking or simply driving to Leas for a piece of their famous pie!
She will be greatly missed by a network of wonderful friends and neighbors.
