Obituary for Dorothy Boudreaux

Memorial services for Dorothy Boudreaux will be held at a later date under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory in Ball, Louisiana.

Dorothy Boudreaux, age 91, entered eternity on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at her home in Pineville, Louisiana, surrounded by her loving family.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her two husbands, Joseph C. Dufour and James E. Boudreaux; her children, Anita Haynes and Wendel Bruce Dufour; her parents, Norman and Maddie Wootan; and her step mother, Margaret Wootan.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children; Bobbie Denham (Orien), Marlene Wise (Michael), Brian Dufour (Dolly), and David Dufour (Hope Paul); her loving grandchildren, Curry, Theresa, Melissa, Jessica, Jeromy, Christopher, Wesley, Joshua, and Justin; her numerous great grandchildren; her devoted partner, Jerry Kessler; her fur baby, Brandy; as well as other family and friends.

Dorothy lived a full life and had many accomplishments, such as being a pilot who was possibly the first teenager to fly in Louisiana. She held several state records such as being the first woman to ever fly in Louisiana and held the longest active pilot’s license (75 Plus Years) in the state of Louisiana. In addition to aviation, Dorothy enjoyed flowers, crocheting, knitting and testing her luck at the Casino. A lovely and wonderful mother, grandmother, partner and friend, she will forever be missed by those that knew and loved her.
