Obituary for Dewitt Kirtland
Funeral services for Dewitt Kirtland will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, Ball, Louisiana with Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Reverend Lloyd Whitman will have the honor of officiating. Services entrusted to Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, Ball, Louisiana. Interment is to follow at Pollock Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Dallas Kirtland, Ethan Ackerman, Glynn Kirtland, Dustin Lasyone Sr., Dustin Lasyone Jr., John Ackerman, and Chris Chauvin.
Mr. Dewitt Kirtland, age 84, of Pollock, Louisiana, entered eternity surrounded by his loved ones on Wednesday, October 12, 2022.
He is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Carole Kirtland; his son in law, Patrick Hebert; his parents, Warren and Myrtle Kirtland; and his siblings, Odell Kirtland, and Emma Kirtland.
Those left to cherish his memory are, his children, DeAnn Hebert, Robin Hartnaft, and Brenda Ackerman (John); his step-daughter, Denise Adams (Chuck); his step son, Jeff Lockart (Teresa); his grandchildren, Samm Ameen, Tabitha Ameen, Glynn Kirtland (Diana), Tina Hebert, Dallas Kirtland (Nicole), Patrick Hebert Jr, Ethan Ackerman, and Dustin Lasyone (Rachelle); along with his great grandchildren, Aiden Kirtland, Hunter Kirtland, Leah Kirtland, Levi Kirtland, Greysen Kirtland, Ella Kirtland, and Dustin Lasyone; his siblings, Lloyd Kirtland, Joseph Kirtland, Evelyn Peters ; his wife, Carolyn Kirtland, other family and friends.
An avid hunter, Dewitt loved watching baseball, especially the Little League World Series. A proud US Air Force Veteran, he served his country honorably. Dewitt never met a stranger, and if you were to have sat down to talk with him, you better have carved out an hour or two. Above all, his passion was spending time with his family. He will be missed by all those who had the honor of knowing and loving him.
