Obituary for David Lee "Flukey" Fleury
Mr. David Lee "Flukey" Fleury, age 68, entered eternal rest on Friday, July 7, 2023 in Alexandria at Rapides Regional Medical Center.
There will be a Memorial Visitation on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Gallagher Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, July 17, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis and Anne Catholic Church with interment to following in Forest Lawn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benford and Blondina Fleury; and brother, Benford Blaine Fleury.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving bride of 34 years, Beth Parr Fleury; daughters, Teresa Fleury Chandler (Frank III) and LeeAnne Fleury Scofield (Wes); grandchildren, Alyssa, Trevor, Henry, Bennett, Isabel, Catherine, and Frank IV; great grandson, Colson; sister, Carolyn Ashley Betchley (Peter); several brothers and sisters in law, a host of nieces and nephews; and K9 partner in crime, Jack.
Mr. David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He worked for 37 years with Rapides Regional Medical Center in the Maintenance Department and was known as the "Key Man". He enjoyed fishing, racing cars and boats in his younger years, and was a member of Cenla Volks Folks Vintage VW Club until his health slowed his participation. "Flukey" was dearly loved by his family and they meant the world to him. He will forever be missed by those that loved and knew him.
