Obituary for Dale Marlin Wysinger

Funeral Services for Mr. Dale Marlin Wysinger will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023 at 3:00 PM, with full military honors provided by the Alexandria/Pineville Veterans Honor Guard all at Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball, LA, with Rev. Kenny Moore and Chaplain Bill Tisdale officiating. Dale chose to be cremated after the services, so there will be no graveside service.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023 from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.

Dale Marlin Wysinger, age 72, of Ruby, LA stepped into the arms of our Lord at 1:15 AM on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, following his one-and-a-half-year battle with esophageal cancer, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Marlin James “Mack” and Georgia Taylor Wysinger; grandson, Cody Michael Wysinger; son-in-law, Robert Gibson “Bobby” Loudin; and his brother-in-law, Thomas “Tommy” Hale, Sr.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 53 years, Patricia Lucas Wysinger; two children, Michael Marlin Wysinger (Sharon Boddie), and Tia Wysinger Loudin; five grandchildren, Chase Wysinger, Rowdy Alexander (Harley Dubroc), Karlee Wysinger, Kaci Boddie, and Bailey Boddie; four sisters, Jo Hale, Nita Bayes (Jim), Barbara Niemeyer (Mark), and Cecelia Turner (Roy, Sr.); many very loved nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

Among Dale’s MANY interests were reading, Bible study, wood working, going to garage sales, and writing poetry. He loved his God, his family and his country. He was very proud to serve his country in the Air Force obtaining the rank of Staff Sgt. During his time in the Air Force, he also served in the Vietnam War. After the Air Force, Dale served in the Army National Guard for several years. Dale was the current commander of the Alexandria/Pineville Veteran’s Honor Guard where he was extremely proud to be able to honor fallen veterans. He was also a member of the DAV Chapter 7 and a past 1st Vice Commander of the local American Legion.

The family would like to extend their utmost gratitude to Compassionate Care Hospice and their staff for the wonderful care given during the last few months. They would also like to express how thankful they are for the outstanding services received from the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center staff, his amazing surgeon, Dr. Lorraine Cornwell, and his oncologists, Dr. Albert Chen and Dr. Sada, all in Houston, TX.
