Obituary for Dahlia Wiley

Ms. Wiley was born February 14, 1933 and entered eternal rest on March 26, 2023 at age 90.

Ms. Wiley was a life-long resident of Rapides Parish, born and raised on Catahoula Lake. She was a member of Holloway Baptist Church, a graduate of Buckeye High School, Alexandria Business College and worked for the Law Firm of Bernard Kramer.

Ms. Wiley is preceded by her parents; Gilbert and Christina O’Neal Sanson; husband, Charles Robert “Charlie” Wiley; son, Robert Kevin Wiley; son-in-law, Doug Gremillion; & granddaughter, Tammy Windham.

She is survived by her children, Becky (Roy) Griffin, Dalton (Kristine) Wiley, Sonya Wiley-Gremillion, & Monique Wiley. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews and numerous others that she loved as though they were her own.

Ms. Wiley will be remembered for always opening her home to many who became family. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing, crocheting, reading, music, dancing, gardening & raising orphaned domestic animals & wildlife.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Dalton Wiley, Sr., Rudy Fuglaar, Bruce Rosier, Bubba Windham, Keith Burnaman, Brandon Powell, Kasey Sanson, & John Braley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Griffin, Dr. Hayes Huffman, Jase Powell, Levi Powell, Dr. Pete Gregory, Larry Paulk, Eddie Sanson, Clay Chevallier, Nathan Anderson, Andrew Dauzat, David Fuglaar, Charlie Wiley, Joe Wiley, Bill Mayeaux, Karl Sanson & Glenn Wheeler. Along with some that we are sure to have missed but have no doubt she will let us know.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Bethel United Methodist Church, 125 Bethel Rd., Deville, La. from 10:00 until time of service at 12:00. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home. Officiating will be Lee McNaughton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Association, Bethel Methodist Church, or to charity of ones’ choice.
