Clayton, aka “C.C. Rider” or “Wild Wilber” was born to Junior and Willie Lee Cotten in Natchez, Mississippi on June 13, 1950. Against tremendous adversity, surviving and living with polio, having only a 9th grade education, having 4 back surgeries and a broken neck and managing chronic lifelong pain, Mr. Cotten drove cross country trucks for 35 years. He owned his own trucking company, grocery store, racetrack/bar and a classic car business.

Mr. Cotten was a loving and generous husband, father, brother and uncle. He loved cars, motorcycles and fishing but above all he loved his family. He will be forever missed.

His favorite inspiring quote: “If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”-MLK Jr.
