Obituary for Charles R. Croom

Mr. Charles R. Croom died peacefully at his home in Deatsville, AL on Saturday, March 27, 2021.

A native of Colfax, LA, Mr. Croom, 83, is preceded in death by his parents, R. B. and Dorothy Croom, his three brothers, Billy Croom, Gerald Croom and Kenneth Croom, his first wife, Patsy L. Chelette Hall, and son by marriage, Tab Hunter.

Mr. Croom was a member of the Pentecostal Life Church of Montgomery, AL and while living in Central LA a part of The Pentecostals of Alexandria. He was involved in Sunday School, Bus Ministry and various other ministries over the years. He worked as a young man in the railroad industry and spent the majority of his professional career in the finance industry. He loved to play the guitar and sing, fish and tell jokes! He will be greatly missed!

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 29 years, Charlotte Croom, of Deatsville; daughter, Trula Croom Gross and husband, Jim; son, R. Brent Croom and wife, Laurie; son by marriage, Vernon Hunter; 4 grand-daughters, Callie Dillingham, Sarah Musser, Krystina Hunter Griffith, Katie Hunter McDonald and 2 great children, Maysn Griffith and Kynlee Murphy.

A memorial service will be held later this year at a time to be determined by the family.
