Funeral services for Ms. Brenda Carol Beebe Tillman will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Hwy 1 First Church of God, Lena, LA with Reverend Jason Strong officiating, visitation will be on Friday, August 6, 2021 from 5:00 pm until 10:00 p.m. at Highway 1 Church of God and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Campbell Creek Cemetery, Sharp, LA Under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, LA.
Brenda Carol Beebe Tillman, age 70, wife of the late Yancey E. Tillman III (Butch), of Lena , LA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 30, 2021 surrounded by her loving family in the home of Amanda and Robert Jameson in Lena, LA.
Brenda was a loving and caring woman who devoted her life to her family and serving the Lord. To know her was to love her. Brenda always had a smile on her face and loved to laugh. Being surrounded by her family and friends is where she was the happiest. She especially enjoyed spoiling and going to the movies with her grandson, Dillon who was her pride & joy, and playing cards on Friday nights with her best friends.
Brenda loved life and spent hers serving the Lord. She loved teaching her adult Sunday school class, leading worship through singing, playing the piano, and giving her free time to planning Bible School, Christmas Programs, and helping with church events.
Before retiring in 2009, Brenda was a teacher for the Rapides Parish School System. She began teaching shortly after graduating from Northwestern State University, Natchitoches, LA with her Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching, History, and Journalism in 1972.
Ms. Tillman is preceded in death by her husband, Yancey E Tillman III (Butch); her parents William (Virgil) Beebe and Susie Mae Beebe; and niece Terrah Ann Beebe.
She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Marie Tillman Jameson (Robert); son, Joshua Wayne Tillman; grandson, Dillon Kyle Guin; two brothers Bradford Beebe (Pat); Barry Beebe (Carolyn) all of Lena, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends who will miss her dearly.
Pallbearers honored to serve include: Joshua Tillman, Dillon Guin, Robert Jameson, Vincent Beebe, Alex Beebe, and Michael Melder. Honorary pallbearers include: Cody Jameson, Curtis Melder, Brett Nugent, David Dupre’, and Jed Strong.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Tabitha Beebe for helping care for Brenda and keeping her spirts and laughter going the last several months while her family was working during the day; and also to St. Joseph’s Hospice. Also a special thanks to Mr. Keith Gallagher with Gallagher Funeral Home for being so professional and compassionate to the family and taking such good care of Moma after her passing with all the special protocols and processes he had to follow for making this difficult time as bearable as possible.
