She worked for many years for Dr. Murray Rice, Garland, Texas retiring in 1992 to come home to care for her Mother. She was grateful for the two years she was able to spend with her before she passed away with cancer.

Bobbie was an active member of Journey Church volunteering to help with the membership records, making Prayer Quilts for members. She served as Librarian at Journey Church and Unity Baptist Church and also taught Sunday School. Bobbie was Baptized at Unity Baptist Church by Brother Carl Weiser in 1994 and was still serving the Lord until her death.

Bobbie was a proud member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Belle Boyd chapter in Granddaughters, Louisiana, Division Chaplain, Chapter Director of Recorder of Crosses, Historian Belle Boyd Chapter, and Chaplain. She loved tracing her family history and others while she spent 14 years proving her Irish Heritage.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Rose Gillespie; brothers, Roy Gillespie and his wife Frances and Alfred “Bud” Gillespie and his wife Arlene; her only son, Ltc. Gary W “MadDog” Ducote who passed away in 2012 leaving a void that could never be filled.

She leaves to cherish her memory of her husband, Tony, the love of her life; her granddaughter, Katy; her niece, Carolyn Maddox and her nephew, Brian, her nephew, James “Dugan” Gillespie; her niece, Sandy Young; her sister-in-law, Margaret Gillespie; her best childhood friend, Claris Genius who went to grammar school together; Barbara Drago, another close friend, who shared many weekends at the camp with her children; Rich and Susan Markway, who are our best friends have been with us and always been there when needed. I love you all. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Pineville Animal Shelter. I love you all and I hope to see you with Jesus.
