Obituary for Audrey "Dolly" Jarrett

Graveside Funeral Services for Audrey “Dolly” Jarrett will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Greenwood Cemetery in Pineville, Louisiana with Reverend Dale Meade officiating and under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory in Ball, Louisiana.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Brian Slack, Paul Tassin, Brandon Davis, Sonny Mockosher, Matt Robertson, and Trey Woodrum.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM at Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball, Louisiana.

Audrey “Dolly” Jarrett, went to eternal peace on Friday, December 24, 2022 at the age of 87 in Alexandria, Louisiana.

Dolly was preceded in death by her son, Richard “Mickey” Slack; her parents; and her 9 siblings.

She is survived by her son, Brian Slack; her daughters, Debbie Davis (Shawn), and Shannon Tassin (Paul); her six grandchildren, Sarah Slack, John Slack (Jessica), Brandon Davis (Lauren), Amber Mockosher (Sonny), Megan Tassin, and Morgan Tassin; her great-grandchildren, Chloe Davis, Callie Davis, Cheyenne Cook, Dakota Cook, and Ryker Mockosher; her sister, Dorothy “Ducky” Scarpati ;and brother, Robert “Bobby” Jarrett.

Audrey was born on November 26, 1935 in New York City. She had many stories about growing up in New York in the 1930s and 40s as the baby of 12 siblings. After seeing their new little sister, her siblings decided that she looked like a precious little doll so they nicknamed her “Dolly”. She lived in Florida then Oklahoma, Japan, North Carolina before moving to England Air Force Base in 1969. She remained in the Alexandria/Pineville community for the remainder of her life.

She was a faithful parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Pineville, Louisiana.

Dolly began her time in the workforce on Wallstreet in New York City serving diligently from a librarian to several Civil Service Jobs before retiring from Fort Polk, Louisiana as an administrator to the Military Police.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Dolly donated to the organization for years and was proud to help the children and their families in their time of need and with cancer research.
