Obituary for Andrea LaCaze Stevens

It is with profound sadness that the family of Andrea Lacaze Stevens announce her unexpected, yet peaceful passing on November 1, 2022, at the age of 61. Born in Natchitoches, Andrea spent most of her life in Central Louisiana surrounded by her extended family and lifelong friends, all of whom will remember her as a youthful soul with an incomparably spirited personality and sharp wit. She commanded attention at every turn and was always the biggest personality in the room. She was also dedicated to her family, always sure to make sure we all knew just how much she loved, appreciated, and cared for each of us.

She was proudest of a life lived: the mother of three remarkable children, an adoring grandmother or “Meme” to several extraordinary grandchildren and most recently her first great-grandchild, the devoted daughter to the matriarch of her family, a loyal and caring sister, a wife, the “fun” aunt, and a dedicated friend to so many.
She is survived by her eldest son, James “Jay” Glaze, and his wife, Kandyies Glaze; her daughter Meagan Glaze Thompson, and her husband, Codiak Thompson; and her youngest daughter, Danielle Luxemburg; her husband, Todd Stevens; her mother and stepfather, Jessie and Clarence Filipi; her sisters, Debbie Suba and Karen Ingram, and their husbands, Scott Suba and Joe Ingram; her grandchildren, Noah Glaze, Luke Glaze, Taylor Hager, Devan Montgomery, Kolby Montgomery, Haiden Morin, Cheyenne Rennier, Payton Rennier, Koda Thompson, Kodin Thompson, Waylon Layssard, and her great-grandson, Grayson Scott Glaze. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, and the extended Lacaze family, all of whom will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lester Lavespere; her brother, Louis Lavespere; her nephew, Justin Suba; and countless other relatives that impacted her life in so many different ways.

Services will be provided by Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, 3994 Monroe Highway, Ball, Louisiana 71405 on Monday, November 7, 2022, with a private visitation for the immediate family from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by a visitation for family and friends from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There will be a service immediately following in the Gallagher Chapel with interment at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Luke Glaze, Noah Glaze, Taylor Hager, Kodin Thompson, Braydan Woodard, and Brody Woodard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jay Glaze, Codiak Thompson, and Christopher Suba.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
